More About Coach Michael

I have two years of experience running collegiate rugby practices as a player/coach. I also have experience working individually with less-experienced players during the off-season to work on position specific techniques and overall fitness.

USA Rugby - Certified Rookie Rugby Instructor.

I currently play for the South Shore Anchors RFC in the New England Rugby Football Union.

I played four years of Division II collegiate rugby.
Saint Anselm College - Men's Rugby (2010-2014), Captain (2012-2014).

Sessions are tailored to the individual client's needs and expectations. General warm-up and conditioning drills. The best way to practice rugby specific skills is with ball in hand, so conditioning drills will incorporate ball handling and passing. Position specific work will focus on technique and drills designed to work on the necessary skills for that role. For instance scrum half work may be on quickness getting to the breakdown, passing from the ground, and play calling based on situational awareness. Hooker work may be on scrum technique and line-out throwing accuracy as well as getting comfortable making calls. Plans will be designed to the client, so if fitness is a priority then conditioning will play a larger role in sessions, if position work is more important then that will take priority.
