More About Coach Melissa

I have been a female soccer coach for 10 years. I've coached individuals from age 3 up to the college level. I was the assistant coach at Chestnut Hill College when I lived in Pennsylvania just a few months ago. I also received the MVP Coach's Award presented by Sky Blue FC in 2016. I have my NSCAA Junior Level V Diploma and am a certified Speed Trainer

I played Division 2 soccer in Philadelphia. I was primarily a defender and became a captain my senior year. I received the Coach's Award my senior year as well.

Development is key. I focus on fully executing an individual's strengths and attack their weaknesses. I first evaluate the athlete in specific areas and then create a progression plan over a period of time. I begin each session with a strong warm up without and with a ball and then lead into drills that are relevant for the individual's development.

Melissa has started working with my 9 year old son and forged an immediate connection. Arlan can’t wait for his next session and has been practicing the drills they did non stop!

I trained with Melissa for a year and I absolutely love her. Not only is she an amazing strength and agility coach, she is also a great friend!

I trained with Melissa for the last two years of my collegiate career at Chestnut Hill College, where she trained me as a keeper coach despite being a defender herself. She quickly learned the in and outs of the position and always asked for feedback and kept players in mind when putting together drills for each session. During my time with her I learned skills and expanded skills I already had in ways I never could’ve imagined. She never let me get to down on myself and always encouraged me to be my best self on and off the field. She quickly adapts to any situation, and truly comes to know her players so that she can better train to their specific needs to make sure they are successful. She’s a tough coach but she always knows exactly what she needs to do to get the best out of every single player on a daily basis. The amount of work ethic and heart she puts into coaching is immeasurable and she instills that in every player she coaches. I credit her a lot for getting me back on track and turning me into the player I am today and despite no longer training me she still has a tremendous impact on many of the things I do as a player and person everyday.
