More About Coach Matt

My training in volleyball is strictly in the weight room. I DO NOT teach volleyball skills. Before moving to Colorado I was able to work with some of the best volleyball players in Wyoming. I worked with 5 that became State Champions.

I played volleyball only in AAU but I've been involved in many other sports including basketball which the movements and lifting are very similar to volleyball.

Typical sessions are about an hour long. They are broken up into 5 sections: A) Activation B) Mobility C) Power D) Acceleration-Change of direction E) Strength. Shoulder strength and mobility is a huge component of the training as well as core work and both unilateral an bilateral exercises. Players will become more explosive and move in all directions.

Coach Matt taught a great session. My son learned alot doing drills and practicing some new techniques. He also was able to take what he learned and apply it to a game situation. We will have more sessions with Coach Matt.
