More About Coach Matthew

I have been coaching with the Philadelphia Union Academy system with ages 8-15. I have ran summer camps/clinics at YSC Sports for the past few years under the belt of Ian Munro: ex English premier league player/ Scottish international. I love teaching/ watching the growth of young soccer players and it is my passion to pass down my knowledge of the game to the youth. I am currently a professional soccer player for the Philadelphia Union/ Bethlehem Steel and I love and breathe the game of soccer every single day.

I am currently a professional soccer player for the Philadelphia Union/ Bethlehem Steel. I played for the Philadelphia Union Academy from age 14-17 and they offered me a professional contract before I had the chance to go to college. I was commiting to Wake Forest University to play college soccer but when the oppertuntiy came to me to be a professional soccer player I couldn't turn it down. I have also played for the USA youth national teams from ages 13-present and I am currently preparing to be apart of the u20 World Cup in 2019.

I find what players strengths and weaknesses are. Depending on their skill level I will provide them with drills to improve their techniques physically and technically on and off the ball. I will also give players specific drills depending on what positions they play on the field to improve their in-game awareness making them feel more comfortable in their positions during their games.
