Goal Assessment, range of motion, review past training techniques, and some education about proper warm-up, training, cool-down, and expectations of both coach and athlete.
Warm-up 10-20minutes (dynamic, stretching, etc)
Drills/Technique 10-15 minutes
Training Workout of the day 20-30 minutes
Cooldown 5-10 minutes
Workouts would most likely go over the 1 hour time limit as long as both parties weren't in a rush to get anywhere else. Warmups could be done ahead of time if need be and more of the focus can be emphasized on the actual workout and event technique. Resistance training (strength training) and flexibility exercises can be also provided to be done during the hour session OR during time without my assistance. I can always accommodate an athlete and adjust the workout based on previous fatigue, muscle soreness, upcoming meet, specialty focus, etc.

Coach Matt did an excellent job helping my daughter! He met her at her level and came up a workout plan that was fine tuned just for her. He was friendly, patient and encouraging, but most of all gave her a lot of information to help her build her skills. He did a great job!

Coach Matt really helped me out a lot by helping me fit a thorough fitness routine alongside my work. He was checking up on me and always requesting feedback based on how I was doing and modifying my routine based on it. If I need to adjust something he always got to it promptly and effectively. Thanks a lot Matt!

My daughter who is in middle school just loved working with coach Matt. His training is incredible. He is patient, and pays attention to every detail. He really relates well to the youth. He was able to pinpoint areas where my daughter was doing things incorrectly and guided her along the way to make the necessary corrections in her hurdling technique.
I would highly recommend Matt to anyone looking to improve their area of expertise.

Sarah (CoachUp client)
I just wanted to let you know how pleased Sarah was with her first coaching session this past Thursday. She came home enthused and motivated for the up coming track season. She was comfortable with your style of coaching and thought that your critique and suggestions to her hurdling form will be very helpful. She has started working on the drills you gave her and would like another session when the weather improves.

We had our first session with Coach Matt this morning. My 8 year old son Devon really enjoyed his first session and doing the drills. Matt was very knowledgable and very engaging. We both are looking forward to his next training session and I'd have no problem recommending Matt be it for youthful or mature athletes. Great first session. Thanks Matt.

I was very impressed with my 12 year old daughter's first session with Coach Matt. He took the time to give the necessary background on what her training regiment would consist of and provided me with the information I needed for her to reach her goals. My daughter looks forward to additional sessions with Coach Matt as she is excited to work with him.

Coach Matt did a wonderful job with my daughter. She really likes his personality and approach to coaching. He is very engaged and seems to truly enjoy teaching.
Michael (CoachUp client)
This was our first experience with a coach and Matt exceeded all expectations. He honed in on exactly what my son (HS junior, sprinter) needed and packed a lot into the first session to motivate and excite him, but also let him know he's gotta work. Looking forward to many more productive sessions with Matt.
Liz (CoachUp client)
Coach Matt was great helping my 13 year old with hurdles, starts and running techniques. She learned a lot of drills and tips specific to hurdles which is just what we were looking for. He explained everything to her in a positive and energetic way, demonstrated and did the drills with her. She definitely grew more at ease with the hurdles as the session progressed, will definitely continue on with Coach Matt!

Coach Matt is a great, knowledgeable coach. If you are looking to get any faster you should definitely book him; he knows what is doing, talking about, and goes about a good way of teaching you. Not to mention he is a coach who actually shows you instead of telling you like most coaches. Everything from technique to experience Coach Matt is superb.
Lorna (CoachUp client)
Coach Matt was very personable and gave great instruction on how to increase speed and shave off time. Look forward to continuing to work with him.
Karen (CoachUp client)
Coach Matt was a great coach. Very informative on all subjects we discussed and he had good ideas for my sprint workouts.
Ed (Testimonial)
That was an awesome workout. I really enjoy your classes. I feel that it's definitely making me stronger and helping with my running efforts. I ran 6 miles yesterday and had something left. I was not too sore at all from last weeks workout.
Christine (Testimonial)
Matthew, This is so over due, but required. I am not a person to take advice and listen to others point of views, it's not that I think I am above that, it's because I never thought that I could because I always felt unworthy and secondly that it would not make a difference. But boy that is so far from the truth. For the past year I have place several fitness goals that I have wanted to achieve, and believing in myself wasn't instilled into my head. But your positiveness and telling me that if I think and believe it, I am half way there. You continued to tell me that yes I can and guided me on how to achieve them. A prime example of this is having me incorporate interval into my training for running my half marathons, broad street as well as a 5k. In the last 6 months I have been able to run 2 half, 1 ten miler and 3 5k's. Each and every race I have been able to achieve a personal best. But today running the 5k at work it really hit home. You told me to get my a$$ out there and run those god awful hill intervals. And it is because of that advice I was able to kick it up a notch and sprint up that last hill to the finish line and picked 2 individuals off in the process. That hill always got the best of me, but today I was able to conquer it, because of your advice. So I want to thank you for your support and encouragement and just being you! Hugs, Christine
