More About Coach Matheiu

My experience coaching starts from summer camps for ages of 5 to 17. Summer camps that last 2 weeks and consists on going over the basics of soccer. Also I have trained a u10 and a u12 team in the past. Both of these situations happened in South Carolina. Usually I work with 10-12 years old kids. However, I am looking forward to teach basics to all ages, but also provide competitive training sessions to people who want to take their soccer to the next level.

I have a strong background in youth soccer development, having trained with Deportes La Serena, a professional team, from ages 8 to 17. Although I may not possess the natural talent of some players, I have always focused on my training and skill development.

I made the decision to play for Iowa Western CC, ranked #3 in NJCAA, and later received an offer to join the University of South Carolina Upstate, a Division 1 NCAA program, after two successful seasons. Additionally, I had the opportunity to participate in the US Open Cup with Dakota Fusion in North Dakota.

My journey is a testament to the importance of dedication and continuous improvement in soccer. Despite not having innate talent, I have always been driven to push myself and develop my skills. I believe my story can inspire others who understand the value of focused training and personal growth in achieving their goals.

Target Audience: Private sessions with up to five players, including children, teenagers, and adults, both recreational and competitive players.

Emphasized Skills: First touch, control, decision-making, leadership, cognitive abilities, and optional physical exercises.

Session Duration: Approximately 60 minutes.

Session Structure:

1. Warm-up (10 minutes):
Engage in dynamic warm-up exercises with ball engagement to prepare the body and enhance ball control skills.

2. Skill Development (20 minutes):
Focus on drills and exercises that target specific skills based on the participants' goals and areas for improvement.

Additional Skill Development (20 minutes):
Dedicate this portion to another skill or aspect of the game that the individual wants to improve.
Customize the drills and exercises to specifically address their desired skill development.

Physical Training with Ball Engagement (10 minutes):
Incorporate physical exercises that involve ball engagement to improve conditioning and coordination.
Include activities like agility ladder drills, cone dribbling, or combination exercises that integrate movement and ball control.

Cool-down, Stretching, and Training Overview (10 minutes):
Conclude the session with a light cool-down incorporating the ball.
Perform static stretching exercises to improve flexibility and prevent muscle tightness.
Provide an overview of the session, highlighting the skills worked on, progress made, and areas for continued improvement.

Remember to customize the session plan based on each player's specific goals and areas for improvement. Allocate equal time between the two skill development sections. Incorporate physical exercises with ball engagement to improve conditioning. Conclude the session with stretching and a brief recap of the training session.
