More About Coach Marcos
I have coached recreational club youth teams U13-U15 in Washington state. I have coached junior varsity in Idaho. I have also coached high school aged one-on-one’s in Washington state. I have led an indoor soccer league for an elementary school in Washington. I typically work with high school aged players. I have a US soccer federation Grassroots license (previously known as F license). I am level 1 NFHS certified for coaching.
I played 4 years in varsity for high school. I captained my senior year and was awarded spring athlete of the year.
I played NCAA DIII soccer at Whitman college. I was 1 of 2 to make traveling roster my first year. Played preseason in England my second year, where we played against pro academies.
Made the academy team for Spokane Shadow in the first year of the Evergreen premier league (semi-pro).
Made first team for Tri-cities Alliance, also in the Evergreen premier league.
A typical session will be tailored to the player and their level and needs. The ultimate goal is to help the player improve and accomplish the goal they set out at the beginning of the trainings. A general session would involve a dynamic warm up, touches on the ball through juggling or dribbling or short passes. Then get into more specific drills that focus on the areas the player would like to grow. For example, if they want to get better at finishing, then drills to work on shooting. Through the drills I will ensure intensity levels are appropriate and hold the player accountable to the goals they set.
