More About Coach Mamadou

I coach the 2003 ODP boys team. I'm currently coaching at Ellicott City Soccer Club. I have worked with u9 and u10 boys teams as head coach. I coach any level from 7 year olds to high school aged players. I am currently working towards my USSF E license.

I played professionally with the Charlotte Independence for one year. Before my professional career I graduated from UMBC where I played collegiate D1 soccer for three years. I spent one year at NC State then transferred to UMBC. In 3 years at UMBC we won the conference regular season twice and the conference tournament three times. I was selected into all conference first team twice and won midfielder of the year once.

In individual sessions I tend to focus on the player's technical ability in a manner that enhances their tactical awareness as well. I prefer to do a combination of passing and dribbling drills so the player spends plenty of time with ball and becomes very familiar with it.

Client Reviews

My son had a lesson with Mamadou. Although my son was leaning towards quitting the sport, prior to his lesson. I think Mamadou actually brought him back to the sport during that hour. I as the parent, appreciated two main components of the session. First, Mamadou stressed correct form and repeated the exercise (in a fun way) while coaching along the way, until my son had it down. Second he helped my son decide, for himself, what caliber a player he wants become. I recommend him, and will hire him again.

Mamadou is young but has an old soul A quote pertaining to my views on soccer.
