I played 4 years of Varsity in High School and was scouted by numerous colleges/universities. I decided to attend community college (partly due to grade requirements) for my first 2 years which was the best choice I could have made. I led my team at Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA for 2 years to a record of 68-2 (31-0 my first year) and helped clinch the 2013 CCCAA State Championship Title. We placed 2nd in the State Championships in 2014, losing our only 2 matches to the 1st place team. I earned 1st team all State Tournament both years.
From there I was recruited to a Division 2 school in Tennessee called Carson-Newman University and led my team to the SAC Elite 8 D2 Championship Tournament in Florida. I earned player of the week 3 times and was top 3 in multiple SAC categories (hitting percentage, total kills, kills per set, blocks per set, aces per set), and was awarded 2nd Team All-Decade.

My sessions vary depending on skill level and learning style. Most often, I’ll find that players are visual and kinesthetic learners who learn by watching and physically doing. This is great because my sessions are typically repetition focused. Getting in as many reps as possible is the best way to gain muscle memory! I am sure to use time blocks for different positions and skills so that each new piece of info is processed individually. For those who are auditory learners, I focus my sessions on a lot of Q&A with demonstration. I love when kids or parents ask questions about how and why you do what you do on the court. I would summarize that my sessions vary depending on what the player prefers and their knowledge/experience with volleyball.
