First off, my name is Luis Farfan. I have a strong and very credible background in soccer. Since my early childhood I began playing at Nomads Soccer Club based out of La Jolla in San Diego County. When I left the Nomads I was recruited to the Arsenal North Academy soccer team in Ontario, so I pursued that being given the opportunity to play alongside some of the best soccer players I have seen until this day! Following high school graduation, I pursued a Semi Professional career in a League named PDL, which is to give collegiate players a chance to be seen professionally on their off seasons. I played for Cal State San Marcos University from 2012-2016, and during my years there, we gained status in to the C.C.A.A conference which is division two in NCAA. Following college soccer, I pursued two professional soccer trials in the USL league which is second division in the U.S. I did not get picked up by either team, and decided to go 100% in with Personal Training being that the finances coming out of college did not allow me to pursue other professional options I had. I have loved every minute of giving back to all my athletes from the countless years of experience, coaches, and mentors who showed me what it takes to be a top level soccer player and athlete not only on the field, but off of it as well! As of now, I run personal lessons full time. I also am currently helping implement a sports program across the Oceanside district schools where we track fitness, as well as train the students in the program all year to compare the development they gained through out the year with our direct training. I am also currently running a monthly soccer for the Boys and Girls Club of Oceanside aside from assisting them with after school programming for students. To conclude, I have two twin brothers who are currently are just reaching their 30's, and they both played around the world at a very high level professionally (MLS & Liga MX). Over the years I have learned very many tactical drills, fitness drills, or simply drills to improve what the individual player needs to improve on!
I really enjoy helping kids of all ages to better themselves. I have a great understanding of what drills and exercises kids at a younger age benefit from to input it into their game on the field versus what an older kid should work on to implement into their game. At an older age, more fitness is required as well as correcting the individual bad tendencies that you may pick up that are limiting your game. As a player on the field I play defensive midfield which requires a very simplistic style of play, pass completion to be almost perfect, must be aggressive on defense, and if in the right positions you also have the freedom to take defenders on and add some creativity to the attacking side of the team! So if you need help on any of these strengths of mine, feel free to set up a session with me and we will go from there to get you to where you want to be. I highly value those who want to reach the next level with their skills to ultimately perform better on the field. There is always a way if there's a will!
Soccer always requires for a player to be well stretched and ready to perform his/her best before getting into any drills or exercises. Therefore, I tend to start my sessions with a dynamic warm up very simple and quick, some things taken straight from my college soccer warm up. The coaching and advice I will provide you with will come from what you want to improve on. As well, if you just want to learn how to do a certain thing or want to understand something better I will help you with it all. My main goal is to satisfy your needs, and better your performance on the field. I will guarantee you that you will be very satisfied. I have very much experience in the sport of soccer and have been around a countless number of professional atmospheres, so I have a great understanding of many different aspects in the world of soccer! Let's get started!
