More About Coach Lewis

I have a lot of experience in coaching all levels and ages. I have did small group sessions with top NCAA athletes and I have also did 1to1s with mini kickers aged 4-7. I like to be dynamic with my work. I can adapt depending on the level and age. The most important things for me is that my client is able to improve and have fun. I have helped coach some teams around San Antonio including SA city. This was group sessions for players aged 16-18. I have my level 1, 2 & 3 football (soccer) badges. I received them back home in Scotland aged around 18. I also done multiple hours volunteering in the community of my home town going to schools and teaching soccer.

I grew up playing in the pro academies of Kilmarnock FC and Ayr United FC. I was full time professional for 2 years in my home country of Scotland for Ayr United FC. I competed against teams such as Celtic and Rangers who are clubs who compete in the champions league. After Covid my contract was terminated due to financial reasons. I came to Iowa lakes junior college (NJCAA D1) where I was awarded with all American, all region and all conference awards. Scoring 14 goals and contributing 17 assists across 3 seasons as an outside back. We reached 2 national semi finals in 3 seasons. At St. Mary’s university (NCAA D2) here in San Antonio I was awarded 1st team all conference and 1st team all region scoring 4 goals and getting 5 assists across 2 seasons helping the rattlers to a conference title. I was the highest scoring defender in the Lone Star conference in the 2024 season.

All conference x3

Goals- 18
Assists- 22

I like to have very specific plans for my sessions. I always like to go through a vigorous dynamic warm up before we touch the ball just to try and reduce the chances of injury as I like my sessions to be intense. I love the ball so everything I do after that will involve a ball. Whether it’s passing patterns, dribbling, shooting or even defending. I think it’s very important to have a lot of touches of the ball. Growing up I was never the biggest or the fastest so I had to be smart and think quicker and be able to play fast with the ball. This is what allowed me to get to the next level and this is what I want my clients to learn. I will always make the sessions fun too, little challenges etc. competition is healthy. It teaches people a lot. But overall would describe my sessions as intense, productive and fun.
