I am an ACE-Certified Personal Trainer with specific expertise in helping athletes of all levels become stronger, faster, more resilient, and less prone to injury. I design strength and agility programs for competitive Masters athletes; local police and military officers; track / field, soccer, lacrosse, and softball players ages 6-18; and those at the very beginning of their fitness journey.

I coach spring track and fall cross country at Falls Church High School and hold a current USA Track and Field Level 1 certification.

During summer 2019, I completed a coaching internship through the high-end health chain Sport&Health. I worked with clients ranging in age from 20 to 75. Many clients were relative beginners to strength work, though several were more advanced. My approach focused on increasing clients’ overall strength, mobility, explosiveness, and movement efficiency.

I am a two-time USA Triathlon National Championships qualifier and 2020 / 2021 Triathlon World Championships competitor. At National Championships in November 2019, I placed within the top 10 amateur women in my age group from around the country. I have multiple age-group wins in the 2019 Kinetic Multisports triathlon series. I placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 7th in the women’s overall division in various road 5Ks throughout Virginia and North Carolina during 2019 and early 2020.

In previous years, I have completed eight marathons, including the Rome Marathon and the Athens Marathon, as well as four half-marathons. I was a collegiate cyclist at Brown University during the 2015 and 2016 seasons and hold a current racing license with USA Cycling.

In the weight room, I am very proud of my double-bodyweight deadlift PR and proficiency with the different Olympic lifts.

During the COVID crisis, I bring a “mobile gym” to some of my clients’ outdoor meeting locations. I work with clients on their front squat, clean, snatch, shoulder press, and clean & jerk using my personal 45-lb barbell and weight plate collection -- all of which fits in my car.

For other clients, I design a program using agility ladders, mobility drills, medicine balls, and bodyweight exercises. My team of cross country athletes at Falls Church High School work on drills for mobility and running form, complete a running workout, and then finish with 30 minutes’ worth of bodyweight and plyometric exercises.

It's been one month since I've met Coach Lauren and in that time I've made improvements in both my overall physical fitness as well as my run time. Working with Lauren is great because of her personality, she's calm, optimistic and respectful of your current status and pushes you to help reach your goals. Another thing that sets Lauren apart from other coaches is her multifaceted experience with runners ranging from younger and less experienced people to runners that have completed multiple 5K's and even our members in the military. Coach Lauren is an amazingly attentive coach! I appreciate that her coaching techniques focus on self-reflection, rather than simple instructions. During my sessions, rather than just tell me what I was doing wrong with my swim technique, she provided commentary that helped me personally identify and understand my mistakes.
