More About Coach Lauren
I have worked as an assistant coach for a the Valley View Volleyball Club. I was mainly working with 7th grade girls, typically twelve to thirteen years of age. I also attended the Gold Medal Squared Camp that was located at the University of Washington Campus back in 2012. Here I took a course of different training techniques in order to teach individuals how to properly play volleyball as well as fixing bad habits that have already formed. I am now coaching a club team 7/8th grade girls. High performance practices and running Gold Medel Squared program.
I started playing volleyball my 7th grade year. I then continued to play club from the age of 13 all the way until my Sophomore year of high school at 16 years old. The teams that I played on included, Club Dig it *Captain (2007), Northwest Juniors *Captain (2008) Ridge Valley Volleyball Club *Captain (2009). and I played high school volleyball and made the Varsity team my Freshman year at Cedarcrest High school. My freshman year we made it to state, and playoffs in my senior year. I was also the Captain of my high school team senior year. I started college in 2012 and made the collegiate club team for Washington State University. My Freshman year I played for the second team. My Sophomore year of college I made it onto the first team. We won The Piva Championship as well as many tournaments. We went to nationals down in Nevada in 2014 where we placed 7th out of over 150 teams. Over the years I have gotten MVP, Most Inspirational and the Captains award.
*Each lesson plan can be specialized, please message me for details.*
*Session plans will be age appropriate/modified*
*Ask about doing a volleball conditioning*
Every client will get a personal packet! Inside has room for you to let me know what it is you are looking for and what areas you wish to improve in! I will use the packet throughout our training session to track your progress. It is a great tool I like to use to see improvement :)
Typical Session would include me making sure that player and I have an understanding of where we wish to see these lessons going. I want to make sure that we cover all areas that are either lacking confidence, causing frustration, or needs a little improvement!
The first thing I would discuss is fundamental beliefs within volleyball.
The next thing would be to have them grab a ball and just brifly show my how they typically warm up
( I would give tips and pointers to an appropriate volleyball warm up * warm up while practicing* )
That would be followed by a simple forearm passing drill. (making sure of correct placement of wrists and hands)
After the passing drill(s) I would asses the individuals setting skills.
for this I would do a setting drill where I am tossing the ball to them.
Depending on the level I would go from there.
I know that serving can be frustrating so I have many drills that allow for practice of service while allowing individuals to build courage to stand and serve from behind the line. Depending on age, underhand may be necessary.
Again, dependent on age I would teach the different tools and techniques of volleyball such as: the four step approach, the different positions on the court, the correct rotations of those positions based on individuals. I would teach blocking and the different speeds that are necessary. There are many fundamental steps to volleyball that would need to be covered and each of my drills works more than just one skill or technique.
I think that it is key to get down passing before anything else.
The first play starts with the first good pass!
I typically end my sessions with a cool down game of the clients choice, this way I am not the only one who gets a say, and they are able to let me know what drill they enjoy doing.

Coach Lauren was awesome!!! She was really helpful showing me pointers and our practice time was really fun.
Coach Lauren helped me learn some skills that I wanted to work on and also helped me build my confidence. She also was a good person to just talk to about the sport of volleyball and what it takes to be a well-rounded player.

Coach Lauren is an amazing coach! After just one session I felt more confident in my serving and the technique. She was always very patient with me when I was struggling with my approach and now I have the correct technique and have identified what I needed to change. She is a super positive and helpful coach, I would recommend her to anyone!

Coach Lauren, has been a amazing blessing to my daughter. She has focused in on her strengths and has coached her to developed a powerful, skilled, confidant U12 player. Lauren is very enthusiastic and passionate about her students. She is always looking for ways to make the game and lessons exciting and challenging. We have hired her to be a private coach and the payoff is amazing. My daughter admires and respects and adores Lauren. I, being a coach myself believe she is one of the best I have ever met! Thank you Coach Lauren for paving the way for our daughter on her new adventure with competitive skill and confidence! She is beaming!
