More About Coach Laura

Throughout my athletic career I have coached and trained girls of all ages. While studying at the University of the Pacific, Stockton, and playing on the Women’s Division I soccer team, I worked with middle school girls in soccer camps during the season and the summer. After graduating I assisted the coach at my high school Alma Mater in Poway, California to train and coach the girl’s varsity team. When I moved back to the Bay Area, I spent a year coaching U8 and U9 girl’s teams at Fusion Soccer Club in Livermore.

I grew up in San Diego County, California where I started playing club soccer at 10 years of age. I started with PQ Premier Club and later had the privilege to play for Surf Soccer Club. I also played Varsity at Poway High for 3 years where I was selected two-time All-Palomar League selection and two-time second team member.

After graduating from high school in 2008, I went on to play Division I at the University of the Pacific. Throughout my career, I scored a total of 13 goals and 6 assists. My freshmen year, I was named Second Team All Big West and received a Big West Player of the Week award. I also was nominated for the Freshman of the Year Award as one of the most versatile players, being able to play defense, midfield (my personal favorite) and forward. I proudly lost that fight to my teammate who dominated the attack and scored 9 goals, most of them being game winners. In support, my teammates voted me Rookie of the Year, which I was honored to receive.

In my junior and senior year, my team selected me Captain. In my senior year I was named All Big-West Honorable Mention.

In 2013, a year after graduating college I played a season with the semi-professional Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) team, the San Diego Sea Lions. I played outside back and we recorded an undefeated season and won the National Championship.

In my experience, personal training is extremely personal. Every session may look different based on the needs and goals of a client. Depending on age and experience, I will take into consideration factors, such as:
• Fitness
• Agility
• Game Acumen
• Strength
• Skill
• Mental fortitude

The expectation will be that every client must come with a list of goals. Based on these goals, we will build workouts and training sessions so that we can also practically measure and track progress.

Throughout every session, my main focus will always be focusing on the development of mental toughness and fortitude. In my experience, as a college and semi-professional athlete, this is the most important part of being the best and outperforming your competition.

My clients will develop a deep sense of self-awareness around their strengths and weaknesses. They will be taught not to see weaknesses as a bad thing but as an opportunity to learn and grow. They will learn how to overcome the mental barriers that can occur as they are being pushed to and beyond their limits.

Client Reviews

Great with kids! My daughter loved working with her. Laura was patient and taught my daughter a good amount of new skills while giving her a great workout. My daughter also learned key warm-up drills and stretches that she'll take with her to help prevent injury. Very happy we did this.
