More About Coach Kristie

I have been working for softball training facilities for over 10 years, covering basic lessons (i.e. hitting, fielding, catching, etc) to more specialized lessons (catching, pitching, slapping, etc.). On top of doing lessons, I was previously an assistant on a high school varsity team for two years and a former ASA/USA softball coach. I currently help run my towns softball program as the director of softball and player development.

I have been playing ASA/USA softball since I was 10U, and still play on a 18+ team - where I focused on catching, infield, and slapping. While in college I played 2 years at Bryant University and 2 years at UMass Lowell, as a catcher for both teams. Prior to college, I played all 4 years on a varsity team in Massachusetts.

My lessons are hard to summarize because they are based on where a player stands and what they need to learn. Usually the first lesson is evaluating the player and seeing where their skills are and if they have the skills to learn more advanced techniques or stick to basics. Going forward, lessons usually incorporate drills to improve techniques and trying to building on the basics, as well as learning on how to use it in a game and game situations. I am a visual learner and think it is important that I am able to show the players what I mean by doing it myself as well.
