More About Coach Kristen
I have 7 years of training athletes in field hockey, lifting ,as well as speed and agility training. I have coached athletes from ages 6 years old to College athletes in New Jersey and California. I am comfortable working with all ages and can accommodate each session according to their age.
I played Division 1 Field Hockey for 4 years at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. I also played on the USA Women's Olympic National training team in 2011.
A typical session from me usually depends on their skill level and where they are in their field hockey career. I can teach anything from first picking up a stick to if they want to train on a national level. However, a typical session from beginning to end is as follows:
15 min warm-up: includes running and stretching( both still and moving)
10 min warm-up with stick: dribbling, passing, hitting ( making sure they're using proper techniques)
5-10 mins on drills: different formations of cones, using proper technique with accuracy as well as adding shooting skills
20 mins: working on a specific skilled part of the game. Whether that would be shooting, passing, circuits or something that the athlete wants to be better at. (Each session will be different depending on where we left off the last time)
