More About Coach Kjnel

My experience is based in Charlotte and surrounding areas, I have been playing volleyball for over 20 years and coaching for 12 years. I have coached ages 10-17 in volleyball clinics, high school and travel club teams, as well as adults. I am also First Aid certified and stay current on all required volleyball program certifications.

My first time playing volleyball was my freshman year of high school and I proved to be a natural competitor. I made the varsity team as a freshman among upperclassmen and competed in our victory when we won the State Championship that year. I was a team captain all 4 years and earned awards for Most Spirited Athlete, Most Valuable Player, Coach's Award and was an All-Conference Nominee my Junior and Senior year. I was recruited D1 to the NC A&T State University Volleyball team then after on to coaching high school and club. Volleyball is a passion and as such I am still active in co-ed and recreational play.

I'll complete an initial assessment of the athlete and continue to monitor the progress throughout our sessions. I do believe that one of the most important aspects of training someone is training their mental endurance and mindset, I enjoy developing the whole athlete. All people are different and learn in different ways so I always study my athlete first to assess what their needs are. I create a timed itinerary for the trainings to ensure that time is being managed efficiently. From there on the activities and times can be adjusted from session to session to reach the desired results per skill.

Coach Kjnel is highly recommended. She is very responsive and accommodating in communication and scheduling sessions. She always arrived early to set up the courts; the sessions are well planned and are targeted to improve all skills (passing, digging, setting, hitting, etc). The people that I typically play with noticed my improvement right away.
