More About Coach Kevin

Coaching young athletes have been part of my life for the past 15 years. I have worked at the college level, both men and women for six years as well as high school and club levels throughout the ten year period. As a player, I played at the professional level as well as a four year starter and team captain at the college level.

As a coach I enjoy the challenge of pushing young players to reach their desired and maximum potential. Working on the general basics of soccer to make their game easier as the difficulties arise with every increasing year. My main focus is on the importance of your first touch in soccer. Placing your body and ball in positions that would benefit your next move. Also, on the understanding of when and where to make certain moves and adjustments to gain the advantage.

Practice sessions are one hour in length and begin with a general overall warm up, changed according to the drills planned that day. Ball juggling is always the first part of the session to get a feel of the ball. Other drills focused on one and two touch movements are then followed and this step is repetitive to become second nature. As they improve and mature while staying focused, different challenges are put forth for players to overcome.

At the end of a session, there is a brief oral review and evaluation of what was done and how we can improve or move to the next level. Players are then encouraged to implement what was done in our sessions in their game play to see the benefits.

Client Reviews

I've been working with Coach Kevin for about a month now and I have seen much improvement. He has helped me with my technique and mechanics of my game. I feel like I also have a better understanding of the game after every training session. I would highly recommend him if you're trying to take your game up a notch.
