Coach Kevin is an awesome coach!! He is very passionate with helping me achieve my goals. He created a training schedule that works to help me achieve my goals that makes me pain free and enjoyable. The cross training and runs works so well for me. It breaks up the training and makes it fun. Coach Kevin positive and encouraging attitude is probably the best part of the coaching. It has me excited and improving my runs. I recommend him to everyone interested in finding a coach that cares about their goals as much as them!
He is excellent. Would recommend to everyone.
I would like to write a letter of recommendation for Kevin Huff. I've known Kevin all my life. We went to the same grammar school on the far north side of Chicago, St. Gertrude. During the summer months we played fast pitch baseball together. Then Kevin and his family moved. We reunited some 30 years later in a sea of people at the finish line of the Shamrock Shuffle. Our relationship was rekindled.
I found Kevin hasn't changed much. His kind heartedness, strong work ethic, and exuberance for life has remained intact. These qualities are exemplified through his love of running, his interactions with family, and his renewed friendship with me.
Kevin would make a great coach. He has run 20 Chicago Marathons with at least one under 3 hours.
He also ran the Boston Marathon. He nurtured our running relationship with expert training tips. So, I highly recommend Kevin Huff as a trainer because of his running experience and personal qualities.
When I informed Kevin of my desire to run my first marathon in 2007 in Chicago, he immediately gave his encouragement and training tips to get me started, to build my endurance, and to establish my goal of finishing. He kept track of my training progress and made sure that I would be ready to complete the full marathon. Unfortunately, 2007 Chicago Marathon was the year when the temperature almost reached 90F degrees and the race was cancelled before I could finish along with thousands of runners still in the streets. Kevin, although he was running in the same race, kept in contact with me via cell phone amidst the chaos and non-stop sirens of ambulances. He told me to slow down, stay in the shadows and look for fire hoses or cooling areas in order to make sure that I won’t collapse like so many runners did that day. He met me back at the finishing area to make sure that I was ok, gave me advice on how to recover from this disaster, and called on me during the week to check my recovery.
His knowledge and experience and advice not only prepared me to run the race, but to be prepared for unforeseen problems that may occur during the race. Through the years, he is an encouragement for me to keep on running, even if I may go through bad experiences.
My name is Jose N Festin Jr, I started running marathons at age 46, and with Kevin Huff’s help, I have completed 16 marathons and enjoyed running as a fun event.
