More About Coach Ken

I have worked in nearly every sport in America - I am a Conditioning Coach with an emphasis on performance mechanics and skills development. I have been coaching competitive rugby for 12 years and have had the privilege to coach at all levels; from a nationally ranked high school program (nationally ranked #2) to the most successful high school select team in over 10 years to... even professional players from other countries.

NOTABLES:
- Athlete: Ultra Marathoner - age 59
- Event: The FANS 24 Hour Race - Lake Harriet
- Previous Best before RHINO Sports Training: (age 58) 55 miles, finished last in age group
- After 4 months of RHINO Sports Training: (age 59) 104 miles, first in age group - second overall and only 4 miles behind event winner (age 28).

- Athlete: Professional Rugby Player - age 30
- Event: Position Transition, Flanker to Fullback/Wing
- Before RHINO Sports Training: played Flanker since high school, very aggressive, very fit; however, had profound case of "winged scapula", increases possibility of dislocated/separated shoulder (prior to meeting him, he experienced one of the most severe dislocations I've ever heard of)... athlete's objective is to learn the back field positions (especially open field tackling), my objective was to stabilize his shoulders first; because it doesn't matter how well he learns the position if the first time he makes a tackle he suffers another shoulder injury.
- After 3 months of RHINO Sports Training: in had acquired 90% Scapular Retraction and made him the "nastiest" open field tackler in the league.

- Athlete: Professional Baseball Player, Pitcher - age 29
- Event: Spring Training (weigh in)
- Before RHINO Sports Training: 270 pounds > told to lose 30 pound by spring training (a 3+ month window) or give up $600,000 of his $8,000,000+ salary for the next season.
- After 5 weeks of RHINO Sports Training: he was able to weigh in at 238 pounds and keep his $600,000 > he waited until the last 5 weeks to get rid of the weight, so in the interest of maintaining performance, we could not starve him to lose the weight (and I refuse to use any illegal techniques or short cuts), yet he was never hungry the whole five weeks... tired, in a good way, but not hungry... we utilized the principles of Performance Nutrition and hard (smart) work to get it done.

All sessions are built around creating an ideal Skills Development Environment:
- First we start with Free Movement warm ups
- Then we spend 30 to 45 minutes "programming" the targeted skills issues
- Finally we finish with 30 to 45 minutes of conditioning
Despite this simplified outline, the sessions are never boring or mysterious (you will ALWAYS know why you are doing what you are doing - ALWAYS!)
