More About Coach Kelly

I have experience working with athletes ranging from 8 years old to college. I have helped run high school and college softball clinics, private pitching lessons, coached little league teams, and worked with college coaches in recruiting. In addition, I have worked with individuals and teams in ages ranging from high school to Division I NCAA in the field of sport psychology, in which I have a master's degree. Not only is your physical game important to me, but I will be working in conjunction with that on your mental game to push your overall talent to the next level!

I was a 4-year varsity starter at Glenn High School in NC. At the time I was a Pitcher/1B/3B/OF. I was all-conference in 03' 04' and '06, and all-state in '06. I was also conference pitcher of the year in '06. I was a scholarship-athlete at UNC-Pembroke all 4 years where I was a pitcher/1B/OF. Unfortunately I was anatomically pre-disposed to shoulder issues that finally caught up with me, and during my senior year I fulfilled a new role on the coaching side. I worked with our pitchers, the budget, and helped with recruiting. I went on to get a Master's degree in Sport Psychology and have since worked with individuals and teams from high school to NCAA D1 on the mental game. While my physical ability is focused on pitchers, I work with any positions on the mental game.

Stretching and shoulder exercises

Progressive drills focusing on correct form and muscle memory (with accuracy comes speed, not necessarily the other way around!)

Conditioning and explosion drills

Mental game drills (we will ALWAYS include the mental game into our workouts. This take on many different forms! Confidence, emotional regulation, leadership, goal-setting, focus, etc.)

My daughter had a few sessions with Coach Kelly and they were great. She is passionate about the sport and is very knowledgeable about the art of pitching. She is patient and she provides feedback that is positive and encouraging. I would recommend Kelly to anyone.
