More About Coach Kelly

I have coached kids from the ages of 2-17. I have specifically worked with goalkeepers from the ages of 6-16 at the club level and as a private trainer. I worked for a goalkeeping academy and club in the St. Louis (MO) area. I have also coached at a club in Charleston, SC for 6 months.
Currently, I am the assistant coach for Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego and am a goalkeeper coach for San Diego Surf Club.
I have my United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper Level 1 and 2 licenses (2018).

I played soccer at The University of Southern Mississippi and played my fifth year of eligibility at The Citadel. In my senior season at USM, I won back-to-back Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week. At The Citadel I hold the record for the most wins by a single keeper in a season. I play for the semi-pro Fire&Ice Soccer Club (Women's Premier Soccer League) in the St. Louis area. We won Nationals in 2017 and won the Heartland Conference in 2018.

As a trainer, I am there to develop the athlete as a whole. Depending on the level of the keeper or soccer player, the athlete can expect to become a better tactical and technical player overall. I take my Division I experience and translate it into how I coach and train. I, myself, am a very technical player and work my sessions around that. Sessions can typically expect to begin with footwork and agility while incorporating some "fun fitness." Footwork is important in any position. As a session progresses, I am always open to what the athlete thinks or wants to work on but I come prepared with a themed session in mind. I also ask the athlete lots of questions to make sure that they not only understand what I am teaching but can come to conclusions on their own. It is important for the athlete to develop the mental side of the game just as much as it is important to develop the physical aspect.

My daughter loved her. Great energy and diversity in practice plans.

Very knowledgeable and helpful. My son got a lot out of the sessions. Thanks Kelly, Terrell

Kelly was great for my son. He was whooped when the workout was over and he really enjoyed it. A lot of coaches go straight to skills and forget the importance of conditioning and agility. Kelly had a really good mix for the training session and did not waste a minute of time. If you can't run down the field, then how well you shoot is irrelevant.
