More About Coach Katie

I started my coaching career in 2015 after I graduated college. I have since earned four coaching licenses; USSF F and E Coaching Licenses and NSCAA Goalkeeper Levels 1 and 2 Diplomas. I have experience with coaching all playing levels and all ages, starting from pre-school age athlete to the collegiate level and still cannot pick one as my favorite to coach. I am currently coaching for the South Carolina ODP state team as the girls and boys goalkeeper coach, I also currently coach for Shannon Forest Christian High School as the head varsity coach for the girls team. I have previously coached at NGU as the Women's goalkeeper coach, Furman United as head coach for the U11 girls academy team, CESA as a club goalkeeper trainer, Soccer Shots of the Upstate as a youth coach and for Upstate HappyFeet Legends as a youth coach.

I began playing soccer at the age of five and have been in love with the sport ever since. I jumped in the goal a year later and didn't leave the net until I was 25 and out of eligibility. But I was blessed to get the opportunity to attend and play for two top level colleges, College of Charleston (D1) and North Greenville University(D2), as the starting keeper.
● NGU Women's Soccer - team captain for two years, MVP, All-Conference Second Team, during senior yr recorded a school-record 94 saves in 1,361:14min played, finished among the top of the Conference in gga and save percentage.
● CofC Women's Soccer - freshman yr started 7 games and ranked 1st in the SoCon Conference in GAAvg allowing only 2 goals and a GAAvg of 0.38, SoCon Tournament Finals freshman year.
● SC ODP Girls 91' State Team - SC Selection & Region III Pool in 2004-09, Region III Champs in 07, Selected for National Camp Pool in 06 & 07.
● CESA Girls Premier - four time State Cup champs, Regionals Tournament Invitational
● Woodmont High School Girls Varsity - from 2004-09 I was awarded team captain, MVP, SC All-Conference, SC All-Star, SC All-State and SC All-Region and player of the year my senior yr.

Without a doubt, the goalkeeper is the most important position in the soccer team therefore, specialized training is needed to master the skills of this position. The performance of the goalkeeper can make or break their team's success in one single game or the entire season, and it is no coincidence that the most successful teams have the best keeper standing behind them. In order to develop the proper techniques and skills to become a successful goalkeeper, you HAVE to take your training seriously.

Awesome first session with Coach Katie!

Katie has been wonderful for our daughter. Have seen continuous improvement from the first lesson onward. Would highly recommend!

Coach Katie is the best kept secret in Greenville for soccer training. She has been training our 5 year old and he is literally 3x times better from the Fall to the Spring season (when we started working with Coach Katie). While he has some natural athletic ability, I was unable to work with him effectively as I do not have a soccer background. I luckily found Coach Katie and she has made all the difference in showcasing his new abilities. Sometimes a child responds well to a third party as opposed to listening whatever it is Dad is saying. Coach Katie plays games, keeps the practice fun, and never applies pressure...my son actually loves coming to see her. The lessons target his abilities and challenge him. While I was able to find a lot of online resources, none of them are were really tailored to what my son needed. Coach Katie bridges this gap in a fun challenging environment and she even listens to my input. My son continues to literally improve with each lesson. I continue to be impressed with Coach Katie's ability to work with small kids. She takes a professional approach and did a full evaluation for my son complete with charts, graphs, and a full skills assessment. Each of his lessons are well thought out and planned according to his abilities. We really enjoy Coach Katie and I envision us working with her for as long as she'll have us.
