More About Coach Kacie

I have played softball competitively for 13 years, and collegiately for 4 years. I played at San Jose State University in Northern California, and have recently moved to Milwaukee. My whole softball career I have been a pitcher. I previously worked as a pitching coach during my last two years of playing collegiate softball, teaching and mentoring young female athletes about the in’s and out’s of the physical and mental aspects of the game. I have worked with girls from the ages of 8-20. I enjoy working with any student no matter the age, as I would love to mentor and pass on any successful techniques, strategies, and fundamentals that I have used and learned throughout the years. I have no industry certifications, only personal first-hand experience.

I competed at the collegiate level for four years. I played at San Jose State University in Northern California. I earned the Mountain West scholar athlete award two years in a row for maintaining a GPA above 3.5 while competing in collegiate competition. I also earned the Dean’s scholar award whilst competing in collegiate competition.

I will personalize the lesson to each athlete. Depending on the age, each athlete learns and understands at a different level than everyone else. Taking that in mind I will implement drills and talk strategy based on that level of understanding. Starting with a brief warm-up I go through various drills, spins, and other techniques based on what adjustments or pointers need to be made. After warm up, we do full pitching, running through all of the athlete’s pitches. When ready and with time, I also have a various repertoire of pitches I can teach to further expand the athletes physical game. I also love teaching my students long toss, I think it’s very crucial to the game and to maintaining lasting muscle strength and endurance. If my athletes are ever struggling mentally with the game or with coaches, I have no problem discussing any mental aspects of the game as well.
