More About Coach Justin

I have participated in numerous summer camps as both a counselor under supervision and as a coach tasked with planning and running full sessions. As a counselor I worked at Lifeseeds Summer camp in Wyncote, PA and I worked at the Future Players Academy camp at Delaware Valley University. I have worked with kids as young as 6 years old at Lifeseeds and as old as 17 years old at the Future Players Academy camp. I do not have industry coaching certifications.

As an athlete, I have competed at the Division 1 level at George Washington University, where I currently attend and play goalkeeper. Going back to high school, I competed with Future Players Academy Premier with whom I won the youth eastern regional tournament and had the chance to compete in the US Youth Soccer National tournament. At the National tournament, I was awarded with a place on the “best XI” team for the 11 most outstanding players. I was awarded with an athletic scholarship to the George Washington University where I earned A10 defensive player of the week honors numerous times throughout my freshman, sophomore and junior years. During my sophomore year, I was awarded second team all Atlantic 10 conference, first team all Atlantic 10 championship, and first team all NCAA southeast region. I ended my sophomore year ranked among the top 10 goalkeepers in NCAA for both save percentage and goals against average.

From a session with me, you can expect expertise and meticulous coaching through the fundamentals skills required for the goalkeeper position. During my time with the Philadelphia Union academy when I was younger, I was able to pick up quality technical skills which I have been able to build upon and that I can instill into young goalkeepers who work with me. As a division 1 college goalkeeper, I can speak to certain skills that are integral to play at a high level while provided personal insights into the mentality and focus needed to perform at the highest level. I like to run thorough sessions that focus on one or a few specific and related skills during the span of a session. This way, I make sure that the athletes are taking in the information and have adequate time to familiarize themselves with whichever skills we are working with on that particular day. This way, sessions are not rushed and there is no pressure to cram in a wide breadth of skills into a short amount of time. While I have ample skills and experience for how to train goalkeepers if they are unsure of what they need help with, I also prefer to ask the goalkeeper or their parents which skills they would like to focus on during a session so that they are able to get the most out of their time.
