More About Coach Justin

I started training athletes when I was in high school. The high school I went to would hold camps for youths and I would help out every summer at the camps. I currently coach for CASL and I am looking for more opportunities to coach and share the love of soccer I have with as many people as I can. I have my "F" coaching license and I hope to obtain my "E" license as soon as possible and continue to grow as coach as it has become a huge passion of mine.

I played at the highest levels my entire life. I started playing travel soccer when I was four years old and still play to this day. During my youth I won multiple state championships a long with numerous tournaments that my team would compete in. Also during my youth I had the chance to be trained by some of the best coaches in the world. My team was the number one team in Michigan and we would have coaches from colleges around the area come and train us. We specifically had the coach from Western Michigan University, Michigan State University, as well as Notre Dame come and train us on numerous occasions. The best coaches that I learned from were from Scotland. My team was picked specifically to be trained by the coaches of Glasgow Rangers who are a professional team from Scotland. They came and held a week of training sessions for our team. At the collegiate level I played at Grace Bible College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I have a ton of experience as a player and am very confident in my abilities and I feel that I can take a lot of things that I learned from the great coaches I had and use them to be a good coach.

When I am training someone or a team I want them to get as many touches on the ball as they can. We will do a ton passing and moving to the correct spots. I also like to do a lot of footwork drills so my players can feel confident with the ball at their feet. I'm a defender and I have been my whole life so I like to do some tackling drill and some containing drills. Shooting is everyone's favorite thing so I like to incorporate some shooting as well. I always have a plan and drills put together to strengthen anything I see that could make my players better. I strongly feel that the most rewarding thing as a coach is to see your players improve.
