More About Coach Julia

I have trained/coached athletes since I was a junior in high school so for about 9 years now. I typically work with athletes ranging from ages 5-18 which entails either an individual 1on1 training or small group sessions.

I went to Verona High School in Verona, New Jersey where I played soccer and ran track. I was a state champion in the 400m and 800m. Then I went on to play soccer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for four years. During my time, we won the ACC Championship, ACC Regular Season Championship, and National Runners Up. I was a captain my junior and senior year as well as an All-American. I then went on to be drafted in the NWSL as the overall 6th pick to Sky Blue FC, but instead I decided to go play in Sweden for my first professional experience at Linkopings. After my stint in Sweden, I traveled to Australia in the off season where I played for Adelaide United in the W-League for my second professional experience. Since then I have played for OL Reign, Racing Louisville, and for the Houston Dash in the NWSL.

Before I start training a client, I like to have a conversation about their strengths and areas that need improvement. Then based on that conversation, I will plan my session. I like to incorporate some sort of juggling to start off the session because that was how I was trained throughout middle school and high school and it helped tremendously with my comfortability on the ball. I also like to go through different dribbling and first touch/passing drills. I would say I really have no limits in terms of what we can do during a session whether it is dribbling, positional work, passing, shooting,1v1, fitness, agility etc.

Julia is a awesome coach. She caters to the player and helps boost confidence

Julia’s experience and expertise is evident in our first lesson. My 15 year old daughter who’s been playing for 8 years and coached by many, had a list of new techniques and strategies she’d learned in just an hour. We highly recommend Julia and look forward to our next session.

Top notch, couldn't ask for a better coach!

Julia is a very knowledgeable and talented coach. My daughter is 17 years old, and plays High School soccer. She really enjoyed her sessions with Julia, and she learned a lot from her. As a busy parent, I was impressed with Julia's promptness and attention to detail. I was also impressed with her work ethic and patience with my daughter. We were both sad that her sessions with Julia had to end, because Coach Julia had to leave town to join her soccer team. We will definitely use Julia again.
It's with great confidence that I can recommend Coach Julia as someone who, I truly believe, possesses the character, skills, and knowledge needed to train and motivate young soccer players.

I was lucky enough to experience Julia training a group of our kids, as well as one-on-one with my daughter, and it was just amazing to see how well she connects with each one of the players either in a group environment, or private. Some of the girls, as typical kids do, would lose focus in our regular training sessions, but when Julia led the team – all eyes were on her! The ability to communicate and connect with each player, at all different levels, and keep their focus, was a pleasure to see. Julias ability to teach the technical skills and clearly communicate them is a trait that is very difficult to find. The kids just seemed to understand her way of teaching, as if she just made it so much easier for them. Her positive attitude and smile was almost infectious, and you can feel her passion for the game. There is no doubt a connection and bond that is almost automatic with Julia, when you are driving home and your daughter asks, “when is my next Julia training session?” – its pretty obvious.
Julia has been coaching our 12 year old for 2 years. She is a gifted coach who runs efficient lessons. Her lessons combine time spent on warming up/stretching, foot skills, control and power. Our son has learned so much from Julia and absolutely loves his time with her. She also uses her time to motivate the children she is working with and our son always comes home ready to train ever harder to achieve his goals. We feel so lucky that we have been able to arrange lessons with Julia and we can not recommend her enough!
Julia’s a great coach that excels at teaching youth soccer. She’s capable of breaking down complex tactical and technical concepts in a manner that’s easy to understand. She developed a customized plan for my daughters based on their individual needs. Most importantly she was able to really connect with my girls. She brings a positive attitude and mentality to each session. The girls worked hard but looked forward to each practice. She inspired them to bring their best to each session and is a great role model for young children/women. She still checks in on them to see how they’re doing. My daughters can’t wait for her to come back north so that they work with her again. “
