More About Coach Juan Pablo
I coached boys and girls ages 5-11. Mainly summer camps, little kickers, high-5, and Sportshouse, both group and individual training sessions. Also coached boys ages 12-19 at summer clinics for Stanford, and Menlo College. Woodside HS varsity boys and Juventus/JASA soccer club. My specialty is goalkeepers, and overall player development.
I played 5 years at Menlo College. After college, I played semi-pro goalkeeper for Santa Clara Sporting Men’s team. I’m returning from ACL injury and want to get back to coaching.
I taylor each training session depending on the level of competition and age of each athlete I work with. I believe in total football, and like my players to work on their overall skills but with an emphasis in fundamentals and using both feet with confidence.
For goalkeepers, I like to set up at 4-8 week plan to address basics, and areas of improvement.
My sessions start with warm up, and stretching. Then we jump to agility and coordination drills. Follow up with various ball control and passing drills. Then we focus of drills addressing areas of improvement based of the players position.
