Jovan Stanojkovic

My coaching career started in 2017 in my senior year of college. Ever since, I’ve
worked at 2 men’s UPSL teams (EFA Metro, NJ Alliance) as well as a team competing in EPSL
(Cliton Elite). While working for NJ Alliance, I was involved with their women’s team as well,
competing in WPSL. I also spend 1 season as a goalkeeper coach of men’s team at Kean
University (New Jersey). I’ve been involved in youth soccer as well as a goalkeeper coach at
multiple teams in New Jersey (Vulcan FC, Summit SC and so on). Through the process, I can
proudly say that I’ve guided many younger goalkeepers and helped them get recruited from
some of the best colleges in tristate area. Since 2018 I’ve been a part of Modern Goalkeeper
Training System, one of the biggest goalkeeping academies in the tristate area. Lastly, I’ve
been doing private and semi-private training for 20-30 goalkeepers of all ages and genders.

My playing career started in Serbia, Europe where I played 1st and 2nd division of youth soccer. I was fortunate enough to be born in 1995, the generation that won the U20 World Cup for Serbia in 2015. That being said, I had opportunity to play with and against some of the players from that team. Now, they’re all professionals in different European leagues, some of them even playing for top teams (Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Luka Jovic, Predrag Rajkovic,….). My path was a bit different and I came to the US for college after graduating high school back in Serbia. I played collegiate level at Bloomfield College, New Jersey. We managed to win the conference, only time in the school history in 2015.

Every session starts with a passing drill, after which the goalkeeper starts using his hands and warm up by catching ball in different heights. After that, the goalkeeper will go through a diving drill, which concludes the warmup. In the next section, the goalkeeper will work on the technical aspects within a specific topic (shot stopping, crosses/high balls, 1v1s, long distribution, cutbacks,...). The finishing part will introduce the tactical aspects and put everything that's done before together.
