More About Coach Joshua
I have been training all age groups and experience levels for 6 years.
I train kids as young as 7 years old, as well as adults.
I cater my training sessions to the individual. I train beginners just learning the sport, as well as anyone dedicated to fighting seriously.
I have trained and coached out of Pullman’s Gym, in Northridge, for 6 years doing personal training and group classes.
I am currently a professional boxer and have been competing for 12 years with 13 professional fights and over 50 amateur fights. I have fought on national television on Fox Sports 1, Showtime, and look forward to future opportunities.
Beginners: for my beginner clients I start by teaching the basics of boxing. I teach all the basic techniques including learning the boxing stance, punching form, and the fundamentals. I use mitts to help develop the skills of my clients. We focus on shadowboxing, foot work, and technique. You will learn how to jump rope and learn the proper technique for strength and conditioning drills.
Experienced clients: As my clients gain experience, I incorporate more advanced techniques, and I increase the speed and agility of my clients.
If you decide to come to the gym in Northridge, I will incorporate heavy bag work, speed bag work, and you will learn how to box in a boxing ring.
However, if you decide to meet somewhere closer to you, then we will focus more on hitting mitts, learning technique, jumping rope, and shadow boxing.
*If you need to cancel or change your session reservation, I ask you to please provide 24 hours notice. Cancellations less than 24 hours or no-shows may result in being charged for the class. Of course I do understand that emergencies do happen, so please text me as soon as you can.

Joshua is amazing in every way! He works me really hard in a very positive, motivating way. I always feel great afterwards—it’s a tremendous workout, gets my heart pumping, and relieves a lot of stress. Can’t say enough good things about Coach Joshua!

Joshua is a great coach, he is attentive to your needs and modifies/adjusts the training session as needed, so you get a balanced and challenging session at the end. I enjoy working with him and will recommend him to others!

I haven't boxed in a while and Joshua was amazing at helping me get back in it - perfect combination of teaching/coaching and workout intensity, felt really good about progress and health at the end of it! Thank you!

I’ve had 2 sessions with Coach Josh, and i can say he’s everything a beginner in boxing needs to get familiarized to the sport well. During training, he makes sure you’re always doing ok, physically and as well as if you’re keeping up with the lessons. He makes you feel comfortable and at home. He can also speed it up and let you learn more things based on the pace of your learning.
I’m looking forward to continuing my boxing training with Coach Joshua!
Aymard (CoachUp client)
Kind, encouraging, intense in the right ways, punctual, professional, and technical. Couldn't have asked for a better coach
Elina (CoachUp client)
Joshua was great. From the first meeting I was able to learn some basic boxing punches. The class was super fun and addictive. It’s a great work out, intensive cardio and above all a natural anti stress. Josh is very passionate about boxing and It’s hard not to like boxing. He made workouts fun! Highly recommended
Stephen (CoachUp client)
Perfect. Set up at a local park, he brought everything he needed, was there waiting for me at the designated time. I'm out of shape, but have experience boxing from back in the day, so it didn't take long to get back into it. Hate jumping rope, and have a few old injuries that make training hard, so he had other options readily available. Good stuff, no brainer will be using again.
George (CoachUp client)
Great trainer, worked with my experience level. Provides great lesson plans and motivation. I learned a lot on my first session with him. You won’t regret booking him!
Henry (CoachUp client)
Coach Josh is a very intelligent person who understood my needs, assess my ability and keep the session interesting and useful. I am happy to get to know him.
Robert (CoachUp client)
Joshua is an incredible coach. He’s organized, encouraging, makes things easy to understand, makes me feel motivated and has a great demeanor. Also, and probably most importantly, he’s a working, professional fighter. You couldn’t ask for a better boxing coach.
Dagoberto (CoachUp client)
I’ve had three training sessions with coach Joshua and will continue to go for as long as I can. He is technique oriented and very skilled in his coaching abilities. Each class seems to be curated to fit my needs. With the perfect blend of new material and a review of previously introduced techniques, I feel challenged while learning something every session. Coach Joshua is helping to get boxing into my muscle memory in a fun and efficient way. I Highly recommend.
Corey (CoachUp client)
Having zero experience with boxing and my first time with using Coach up, I got lucky picking Josh as my coach. He is a fantastic trainer that made me feel at ease with a sport that can be intimidating to start. I’ve been back twice now and am looking forward to continuing to grow my skills and technique with the help of Josh. Highly recommend!
Giovanni (CoachUp client)
Being new to boxing, I wasn't sure what to expect. He gets you right into the vibe from the go, with good motivation. Very welcoming and relaxed environment to train. He pushes you to work hard but keeps you at a good pace. Bought more sessions right after my first, I'd definitely recommend him for newcomers like myself!
