More About Coach Joshua

I have a National E soccer coaching license obtained through Cal South Youth Soccer Association, as well as an 11 vs 11 grassroots license. I also have 5 years of coaching experience at the high school level in addition to volunteer coaching at the youth recreational and competitive levels. Both high schools I coached for were successful in making sectional playoffs every year, and I am proud of the way players were able to develop on and off the field during my time there. In addition, my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology has given me a large fund of knowledge in personal training. I am passionate about teaching players education in the technical skills and tactics of the game, as well as designing personalized fitness plans to maximize their potential.

I played four years for the Men’s soccer team at Point Loma Nazarene University. During my time there I earned the NAIA scholar athlete award and was fortunate to lead our team time/Bible study my senior year. My high school accomplishments included designation as team captain and making the all league and all sectional teams.

After warming up I like to start sessions with plyometric/footwork drills as we transition to skill work. I like players to get as many touches on the ball as possible and design drills with this in mind, while also focusing on movement and simulating game-like scenarios. I also like to include an element of small sided competition when possible. Sessions end with fitness, with an increased emphasis on core and stabilizer muscles.

Client Reviews

First session was great, we showed up and got right to work with our player. Excited to see what is yet to come.

My son had a great time with Josh! Would definitely recommend.
