More About Coach Jon
I began my coaching career during my junior year of high school, where I was both the middle school goalkeeper trainer as well as the goalkeeper trainer for the women's team for two years.
As I attended college in Mount Vernon, OH, I also ran goalkeeper sessions for elite level club goalkeepers as well as high school athletes in the Mount Vernon area.
After finishing my playing career at MVNU, I became the goalkeeper trainer for the Cougar's Men's team for 1.5 years.
I am CPR and AED Certified and an Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise. Because of my training background and knowledge, I also possess a good amount of knowledge in the strength and conditioning field in order to help athletes in all areas of their game.
I was an all-county athlete and Public-Opinion All Star in high school (Shippensburg, PA) where I was a 4 year starter (as both a goalkeeper and forward). I played high level club soccer where my club was ranked #7 in the nation according to Top Drawer Soccer.
During my recruiting process, I decided to attend Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where I became a starting goalkeeper during my tenure there.
As a goalkeeper coach, I focus on training athletes in their specific area of need. As a general rule, I make sure my athletes start with a solid foundation (90% of their game) and then work up to improving the nuance of their game (the remaining 10%). Every athlete should expect a tough and productive workout when training with me. I want to build a player's game around their strengths while improving the areas that could be considered weaknesses. I have a high emphasis on footwork and body control as well as proper technique in order to maintain a long, safe, and healthy career for my athletes.

Client Reviews
Wendy (CoachUp client)
My son and I met Jon for a one off training as we were traveling to a tournament in Denver. We knew nothing about each other. We only knew him from his profile in the CoachUp app. The session went great! It was easy for my son and I to quickly establish a friendly repport with Jon. His knowledge and skill as an instructor was helpful to my son as he prepared for nationals. Thanks Jon! We really appreciated your help 😎
Michael (CoachUp client)
Coach Jon is a great instructor. Had provided egressive basic skills development for goalies.
Brent Schilling (Testimonial)
I was looking for a program that would allow me to gain muscle/strength while at the same time staying cut/lean as well as grow my legs (because my legs are the toughest body part for me to grow... Jon did exactly what I wanted and asked for. Each week was a different workout, so there was no monotony from doing the same workouts every week. I began the program fluctuating between 153-155 lbs and ended the program between 158-161. My squat, bench, and deadlift have gone up. I am the heaviest I have ever been and I believe the leanest I've ever been, which is exactly what Jon and I set out to do... I think the results speak for themselves.
Preedee (Former College Athlete) (Testimonial)
Jon is a good coach. Though he is young compared to others, he has coached me in college. And with limited equipment h is very creative in his sessions making training sessions fun and challenging. He helped me with the fundamentals of goalkeeping, fitness, and most importantly, confidence.
