More About Coach JohnVito
I recently became a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer. In the past, I was a youth soccer coach for 2 years in Brooklyn, NY.
In high school, I participated in Track & Field for 4 years(X-country, Indoor & Outdoor). I was a 3 year Varsity athlete at Xaverian High School in Brooklyn. My best mile time 4:40 along with a 10:02 two mile time. I was also a NPC(National Physique Committee) competitor.
It is vital to develop healthy habits for young athletes and most importantly to prevent injuries. Training for SAQ (Speed, Agility, Quickness) will always begin with a consistently overlooked portion of the training program - warming up and cooling down. This portion of the workout will never be rushed or skipped. A training program will be flexible and specific to the needs of the athlete. Communication is vital and all drills will be presented in the beginning of the session, with demonstrations and benefits the exercise will give the athlete.
