More About Coach Joe

Goalkeeper trainer for 12 years. Joe has trained Soccer goalkeepers from age 6 to over 18. "Big Joe" as he is known in the South Bay has trained over 100 Goalkeepers in Southern California. He is the Founder of Impact Goalkeeper Academy which is a year round Goalkeeper Academy which provides training weekly for Goalkeepers only and holds 4 Goalkeeper Camps yearly.
Big Joe has a huge passion for Soccer and most of all Goalkeeper Training. His traditional motto " My Goal is to Deny yours" is echoed all the time. Big Joe also provides Goalkeeper training for club teams along with AYSO Goalkeepers.
He holds a:
- Level III Goalkeeper Coaching License with the NSCAA
- USSF D License
- Frans Hoek Goalkeeper Coaches Certificate
On a final note Joe counts with every single piece of equipment for goalkeeper training from:
Soccer Balls, Rebounders, Soccer Mannequins, Soccer Jugs machine, hurdles, Plyo Boxes, Speed Ladders, Agility Poles.
But most of all EXPERIENCE.

Played for the Youth system as a Goalkeeper in Deportivo Marquense (Guatemala) (Ages14-16)
Finished High School at Mira Costa High School
Competed at El Camino College
Played 5 years in the L.A. Metropolitan Soccer League
3 back injuries and a hip injury forced him to retire early.

I cater to the Player. Before every private session I do weather it's a first timer or a consistent client, I always ask what they the players wants to work on. I feel if the Player addresses their needs then weaknesses become strengths.

This is a typical session plan for me Keeper training:
- Warm up/stretch
- Ball Handling skills
- Movement with Ball Handling skills
- 1st main topic (Diving)
- 2nd main topic (Positional play)
- 3rd Distribution skills (Punts, Goal kicks, throwing)
