More About Coach Jen

I have been involved with running and the sport of track & field for over 12 years. As a high school mid-distance runner, I competed in the Massachusetts D1 State Championships multiple seasons in cross country and both indoor and outdoor track & field. I took some time off from running during college and my love and passion for the sport grew strong in grad school. I spent 2 years as a Massachusetts High School T&F Official and over 10 years working as a Falmouth Road Race employee.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s degree in Sport Administration, I went on to achieve multiple fitness certifications and a career in health & fitness. I am a supervisor and marketing coordinator at the Mashpee Fitness Center/Cape Cod Rehab where I train athletes of all ages and abilities in the gym every single day.

I will use my knowledge and experience to provide the guidance and tools my clients need to succeed. Whether you are a beginner looking to get started running or at the intermediate level hoping to improve your times or tackle new distances, I can help you reach your goals!

Each session is highly individualized based on the client’s goals and fitness levels.

I would begin with a fitness assessment for each new client. This is a good opportunity to get to know each other and find out the clients strengths and weaknesses. From there we will set goals and develop a plan. Options for training sessions could include a cross training session in the gym, heading to the track for a workout, or just getting together to map out a training schedule for the individual to follow on their own. I’d even be more than happy to meet up with you and join you on your run!

Not only was Jen a great coach, but she was also a great inspiration. Training for a marathon with someone that not only runs them herself, but also is currently training for one at the same time was great. I feel that she understands the obstacles life throws at you during training and was very adaptable when making my schedule. She also is very up to date with the different training platforms like Garmin Connect and Strava that allow her to see where you need improvement and where you crush it. I plan on asking her to coach me agian for my next marathon.

I booked Jen for some virtual coaching to prepare for a 5k. I've run races before (longest being a half marathon) and I wanted to see if I could speed up on my 5k time. Jen put together a 4-week program for me to start out with. She stayed in touch with me throughout my training and followed my progress on RunKeeper. I just registered for my second half marathon and will be booking more sessions with Jen to help me reach my goals. I highly recommend her!

Thank you so much for yesterday! I feel more confident having been watched! Your tip on lighter on the feet during strides is very helpful! I found it easier to run strides that way!
I initially worked with Jen to get myself in shape for skiing in January of 2015. After the ski trip I changed my focus to get prepared to do a Sprint Triathlon in May of 2015. I have always been a tentative skier. When I started working with Jen, I was 61 and going back to Montana to ski for the 15th year, and I wanted to improve! After working with Jen for several months, I skied the best I have ever skied. I skied longer and on harder slopes all week. I successfully showed up for the triathlon and was quite excited to finally be accomplishing one of my long-time bucket list goals, and unfortunately due to a bike accident on the course, the race was called. But I was ready and I showed up! I plan to show up again at the same triathlon next year. My goals were accomplished by seeing Jen (usually) twice a week and exercising outside of my training sessions. Jen encouraged me to get as much exercise as I could fit in on days we didn’t meet. She planned appropriate exercises for me to do to reach my fitness goals.
