More About Coach Jen

I have coached at all different levels with all different age groups. Over the years I have coached high school teams, clubs, private sessions, and small clinic groups. My club teams have thrived all over the country from Boston to Seattle to California. I work with players at a rec level all the way to players preparing for D1 college commits.

Growing up I played for a top nationally ranked club team out of California and went on the play at Santa Clara University. I play professionally now in the NWSL and just returned from Germany playing with teams in the Bundesliga.

Typically in my session (can vary from player to player depending on skill level) I like to warm them up with ladder work and tennis ball juggling. From there we would move on to technical work in a small area to focus on ball control and just overall comfort on the ball using both feet. I believe in well rounded players who have a strong foundation to build on, so I would then want to cover the bases of defending as well at attacking. Skills such as dribbling, crossing, shooting, and passing would be covered; but there would also be a strong emphasis on proper patient defending. Being a defender myself, I know first hand how poor defending can damage a players game, so I would make sure that area is properly covered. Depending on the player's skill level eventually we would move on to shooting and passing with different surfaces of their feet. I typically like to end sessions with a little bit of fitness, speed, and/or agility. Like I mentioned, I believe in developing full rounded players and as much as on the ball skill is important, what a player can do off the ball is just as important for their game to thrive.
