More About Coach Jan
With extensive experience as a goalkeeper coach, including a role with East Atlanta FC (USL2), I am currently the Head of Goalkeeping (Age 8-16) for GSA East and coach a U12 Girls Academy team. Currently I am in my process of doing my D License.
In my professional soccer career, I was honored as Big East Goalkeeper of the Year at St. John's University (D1) and C-USA Goalkeeper of the Year at the University of Kentucky (D1). I also had the opportunity to participate in preseason with Real Salt Lake (MLS).
My coaching philosophy is to ensure that every athlete leaves my sessions better equipped in their skills. I employ a targeted approach, breaking down specific goalkeeping components—such as handling, diving, and reaction—and dedicating most part of the sessions to each focus area. I prioritize age-appropriate session planning, ensuring each athlete’s developmental stage is respected to maximize progress and build foundational strengths.
