Client Reviews

I must say that I am very disappointed in how things turned out with my daughter and Coach Jane. Prior to me even purchasing sessions with Coach Jane for my daughter I let her know my concerns and where I felt the areas my daughter needed improving on. I also let her know that I wanted this to be a long-term relationship between player and trainer (for as long as Jane continued to coach) due to Coach Jane's background as a former collegiate player herself, so my daughter could get a little guidance from her on what kind of challenging work it takes to become a college student-athlete.

Now I am an overseas military contractor, but I was able be home for the first couple of sessions with my daughter with Jane and they went pretty well for the most part however when I asked Coach Jane if there were anything that my daughter could or should be working on at home to make herself better, she really couldn’t give us anything which is very disappointing because if you are currently coaching and a previous collegiate player yourself, then you should know a few basic fundamental things that could be worked on in the backyard of your home( for example if I am looking to get better at free throw shooting, I as a coach would recommend you to shoot 500 free throws daily, just an example).

The final straw came when I let Coach Jane know that I was headed back overseas for work and I let her know that my wife would be bringing her to practice. For about two weeks after my departure, my wife tried to contact Jane to set up sessions for my daughter which is no big deal because we all have things we must tend to in our personal lives however if I am paying you for a service then I expect the lines of communication to be open always. The first excuse was something that happened with her phone in which she couldn’t get a phone for an entire week and a half, but then after finally being able to schedule a session with her after several inbox messages, conveniently five minutes prior to the session as my daughter is literally getting out of the car Jane calls and cancels with the excuse that her boyfriend had car trouble. Again, life happens, and things happen beyond our control but once I left, I truly felt in my gut that Jane had no intention on coaching my daughter and helping her get better at the sport she loves which is a big disappointment because my daughter was very much so looking forward to working with her.

I also believe that Jane is not committed to coaching little girls who may not be the most talented at the time and who may need work/ more development than other girls she may currently coach. I have coached football in Colorado, Virginia and Florida at the middle and high school levels, some of my players who weren’t as talented as others that were counted out by the coaches on staff were the ones that simply put in the extra time after practice were the ones who went on to receive scholarships just by hard work and out working the most talented guys outside of team practice. I say that to say if Jane felt that my daughter wasn’t quite there yet and if she felt that she couldn’t get my daughter to the next level, I feel that she should have just said so upfront and I could have moved on with another coach in my area who was willing to put in that time to see my daughter’s dream of becoming a collegiate soccer player come true.

In conclusion, to any parent out there like myself who is looking to get a personal coach, through CoachUP to help better your child at any sport, I would advise that you buy maybe three sessions to see how things work out with that coach and then buy more after that. I was all in on Jane and it simply did not work out the way we hoped it would but thankfully CoachUP credited me with the sessions I already purchased and I was able to find another coach who is currently working with my daughter.
