More About Coach Jacey
I have done private trainings for years. Starting during my collegiate career at UCLA, I would train young boys and girls (7-13) in the area for 7-10 hours a week. Following college I continued to privately train young athletes, but stopped about 2 years ago due to the demands of my full time job. I have coached athletes who have gone on to play at the top youth levels and eventually onto D1 programs.
I played within the US youth national teams from
U14-U19. Earned HS All American recognition as a senior. Played 5 years at UCLA, a top 10 program every year I spent there. Captained my UCLA team as a junior and senior. Made Pac12 academic and athletic honors lists every season at UCLA.
I love to focus on technique, as that was a huge basis of my training during my youth. I will work with the athlete on the foundational skills needed to make them an overall better soccer player. We will begin with a functional warmup, both with and without the ball. Then move on to dribbling technique, where I will challenge the athlete with different skills and ask them to use both feet to complete the exercises. Next we will move on to passing, first up close then moving further apart and focus on hitting long balls with different textures on the ball. Lastly, we will use the goal to work on finishing in different scenarios… think of shooting off the dribble, finishing a cross, practicing PKs, and overall shooting technique. I’ll add in games and fun to keep the athlete engaged and excited throughout the whole session.
