More About Coach Heath

I started out coaching soccer while in my early 20s and coached off and on until in my 30s in Ohio. It wasn't until I moved to Texas and saw my own daughter play softball, I thought to myself, "I need to learn to play this, and coach it." I have been the head coach of an 8u Fastpitch Softball team for the last 2 seasons. I have taken special exception to pitching. Not only do I give instructions but I can actually pitch, showing that I "practice what I preach." I won't teach anything I won't do myself. I typically coach beginner pitchers but if any pitcher feels they need to work on their mechanics or improve their skill, I can help them along.

As a coach, I have been recognized by my peers and have been nominated as the head coach of an 8u All-Star Fast Pitch Softball team right here in North Texas. I'm gaining recognition among my peers about being able to simplify pitching and not complicating the work.

A session will last 1 hour. My focus for the first session is getting the pitcher to understand why pitches go too high or low and why the pitches go too far inside and outside of the plate. Learning this is key for someone who is beginning pitching or any pitcher in general. Your pitcher will also be given "homework" to use while they are at home.
