More About Coach Hanna

I have coached all ages field players and goalkeepers girls and boys from age 5 through high school. I have worked many camps at the college I played as a goalkeeper at (St. Louis University) and have helped my goalkeeper coach train kids after my many, many years of training with him. We worked with club goalkeepers of all ages throughout the St. Louis area. Also worked with several St. Louis high school goal keepers (men and women) that went on to play collegiate soccer.

I played as a Division I goalkeeper at St. Louis University. I started and played every game starting my sophomore year besides maybe a few due to injury. My sophomore year we made it to our conference tournament. Senior year I had a career best 0.96 goals against average.

At my high school, Villa Duchesne, I was named all-state my sophomore year. My junior and senior year I played both in the field and in goal. Senior year I got the coaches award meaning I was “most coach able.”

Depending on what the client wants/needs to improve upon will depend on the session. However I do like to have a general structure to the lesson.
Footwork is EXTREMELY important to me and I will always begin the session with some sort of ladder drills or footwork sequence or something along those lines. Then I will - if this is goalkeeper training - go into handling with the footwork. Making sure the client has good fundamentals is everything. After that, it really depends on what the client wants to work on. After going to goalie training 3 times a week for 8 years of my life, no matter the weather outside, no off days, I have drills for EVERYTHING. Crossing, diving, punting/dropkicks, breakaways, set pieces, communicating, positioning, etc. I’m willing and prepared to work on anything and everything.
