Gina Bianculli

I am a former Stony Brook U. Softball player. I graduated in 13’ from SBU with 3 America East Championships and 1 NCAA tournament appearance as a senior. I have been playing softball for 25 years and have a passion to make my players better in the game and also in life. I have coached Elite Travel teams on Long Island as well as junior and varsity level high school teams. I have also coached and trained at The Cage and Stony Brook U. Training camps. I work with all age groups. I am also a board certified NYS sports acupuncturist.

I will have a conversation with either my player or the parent/guardian of the player, depending on age group, to discuss goals and aspirations on and off the field. I want to get to know my players and their dreams. Not all of them have to be related to softball but my job is to get you closer to all of them. We will go through basic drills in all areas of the game, throwing, hitting, fielding and running to assess where we need to focus. I like to do some hand eye drills without gloves to really get the feeling of the ball and to help watch the ball all the way in. This creates a much more sound relationship between the player and the ball. I will break down hitting in a similar way, taking the body through the mechanics and making sure my player has solid proprioception surrounding their stance and positionally. Running mechanics will be taught as well. Assessing walking mechanics with point of energy will help modify and enhance explosion and streamline running mechanics. I look forward to our first session!
