More About Coach Gabriel
I have coached youth soccer going on 5 years now. I have coached at the select/competitive level those 5 years, the first 2 years at JYSC before it merged with another club to become Florida Elite Soccer Academy. I typically work with younger age groups 8-12, but I have had group sessions with ages ranging from 4-17 years old. Currently the industry certifications I hold are the USSF "E" License and I am looking to earn my "D" License within the next year.
Unfortunately due to a broken leg early in my senior year of high school I did not make it to the collegiate ranks, but I did attend one of the best high school soccer programs in Florida, Mandarin High School, as well as played for Jacksonville United Football Club. Our team made it to regional finals every year I played in high school as well as two Final Four appearances and one State Final appearance.
I like to build my sessions around a players strengths while bringing their weaknesses up to par, but a typical session would include lots of foot ability/comfortability with the ball at their feet. A lot of shooting with both feet, dominant and non-dominant. At the end of the session I like to incorporate different fitness exercises as I am an avid fitness lover and think it is important for young players to practice regular fitness routines to be able to play at their highest level. Fitness is also very important if a player has goals of playing in college and beyond.
