I've assisted in coaching children from ages 8-16 in competitive soccer in the Bay Area where I grew up.
I helped one of my former coaches with his U-10 DFC boys, where I was responsible for teaching positioning and defensive awareness. I also helped another former DFC coach with his U-14 team, where he had me demonstrate game intensity and composure, along with communication skills. I briefly provided one-on-one training for a few kids after graduating high school in the summer of 2013 before starting college. I've played this sport my entire life and played both club and college level, having also traveled and experienced the game in other countries including Mexico, France, and Brazil.

Each session can vary depending on the individual I am working with. Each individual is different and may need to improve different aspects of their game. A short conversation with each player and/or their parent(s) as well as some basic drills will also give me a better idea of how I should approach each player and help improve their playing abilities. One thing that everyone can always expect of me to broaden the knowledge of the on-field assessment and movements for players. I grew up with poor coaching lacking certain fundamentals that didn't specify positioning and awareness that I needed to know. Not until later was I introduced to these new concepts and ideologies that can completely change and improve every players game, and once I learned these things I became an entirely different animal on the field.
