More About Coach Erika

I have experience coaching soccer at all levels although I typically work with ages 8-18. I have coached competitive teams ages 6-15. I also am a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM.

I like to perform assessments for each player that I coach. In this assessment I will identify strengths and weaknesses as well as determine goals. With this information, I will create a workout plan catered to each player. No two players will have the same workouts as each player has different strengths, weaknesses, and goals. We will work on all aspects of the game, technical, physical, and mental as each client should be a well rounded player. These sessions will progress in difficulty to continuously challenge the athlete and build off what has previously been learned. While there is always room for improvement, I also believe in giving each player a firm foundation of skills.

I have 18 years of experience playing the game. I played competitively and mostly year-round since I was 4. In high school I was named Honorable Mention All City for Offense during my senior season. I went on to play all four years in college at Friends University in Wichita KS (NAIA).

My sessions are made up of a variety of drills that will be tailored to meet the needs of each player. Wanting to maximize time spent with each client, I will develop an individualized workout plan to cater to each individual to address any/all areas of improvement. Here is an example of what this might look like:
-Warm up (jog and stretch)
-Plyometrics (work on coordination, quick feet, balance, etc.)
-Technical work (first and second touches on the ball, pertinent skills)
- Passing/Dribbling
-Fitness/Strength (to help improve endurance and overall physical fitness)
- Cool Down/Stretch/Review (finish up the session and review areas to work on)

Each session build off of the previous one. This allows for repetition (mind-muscle connection) and to build the solid foundation of skills needed to progress to the next level. As we progress, the workouts will intensify to continue challenging the athlete.

Client Reviews

Coach Erika is a great coach! She was very professional with my daughter and is very knowledgeable.

My son really enjoyed his session and would like to work with Erika more!

My daughter, 13, has had two sessions with Coach Erika, so far. Although my daugher is a 'seasoned' soccer player, she has already learned so much. I like that Coach Erika holds my daughter to high expectations and explains how drills, etc. improve the game setting.

Coach Erika is a patient and very knowledgeable coach. My granddaughter had never been taught the basic skills of playing soccer. Coach Erika introduced her to those skills for the first time during her first session. After that first session I immediately saw my granddaughter’s confidence level increase. She remembered what she had been taught during that first session and was eager to practice on her own until the next session. I would definitely recommend Coach Erika to anyone.

The first session exceeded our expectations and the coaching our son received in the first session was fantastic! Coach Erika hit every fundamental we were hoping for and more! We are excited about further development!

I loved Erika's dedication and enthusiasm for soccer. I really appreciated that she is going hold my daughter to 100% effort. If she sees my daughter isn't doing a move or drill 100% correct; she will keep working on that till she gets it right.
That is a great quality in a personal trainer. Why pay for a trainer that will allow your child to just move on; even knowing that they fully aren't getting the drill correct?
My daughter has only had one training session but I am very eager and excited to see how much she improve with Erikas help.

Erika did a fantastic job with my 12 year old daughter. Her drill were extremely useful in her soccer development. I highly recommend her!

Understand the first session to be an evaluation and install basic drills. Will have a different review with other sessions to determine if this is the right training needed for my daughter.

Great first session

Coach Erika is a very knowledgeable and dedicated coach with an amazing eye for the game! Bringing her into our daughter's training is really helping our daughter to address her short comings as a player in order to make it to that next level. Most of all, our daughter loves these sessions and looks forward to them, as well as the homework she is given between sessions! Coach Erika has been a breath of fresh air in this very competitive sport!

My daughter just had her 1st session with Erika this afternoon. My daughter learned so much in just this 1 session. She is really excited about next week.Erika is very knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher.

Coach Erika has done a great job tailoring each practice session to my daughter's goals and areas of weakness. My daughter looks forward to her sessions and we are already seeing carryover from practice sessions to game play. She offers a good balance between challenging athletes to work hard, tackle difficult skills, and also have fun.

Erika is an awesome coach. My 10 year old daughter looks forward to her practices with Erika. She played her best game in a long time last weekend. Erika has brought the love for soccer back out in our daughter that she lost with her last two coaches.

Coach Erika is a great coach! She came prepared with a written plan for my daughter and coached a brilliant first session with structure and pace. My daughter learned a lot in just this first session and left inspired to continue her preseason training with Erika's recommendations.

I have known Erika for 10 years, in which we were teammates (basketball and soccer) for almost 8. Erika has always been one to lead on and off the field and court. Be it with her words, or her actions, she has the ability to influence others for the better. I had the pleasure of assisting Erika with her YMCA soccer team in 2010. Despite the short attention span of the young group (ages 5/6) Erika was able to capture their focus and establish a clear foundation of skill set in a short amount of time. As a player, Erika has amazing technical skills that always came in handy as she was able to maneuver her way through top collegiate competitors with great on the ball touch and agility. If I could describe Erika in one word, it would be passionate. Erika has continuously demonstrated her love for soccer and service. I would be honored to have her as a mentor and coach to my children.
When both Laura and I came to Heights High from South we didn't know what to expect. We knew there were some good players at Heights but were concerned with how we would be welcomed as newcomers. As the head coach, I was thrilled to have a player like Erika on the team. I always looked at you as the leader, the glue, the quarterback of the team. Playing the role of center mid in a system that demanded so much from the middle was critical to our success. Sure we had great offensive and defensive players, but we needed a strong center! Erika was that player. More importantly, she was a leader on and off the field. A solid player and a wonderful person! Coaching a team of 11 Erika's would have made my job too easy!
Erika was a coach's dream athlete! With her presence on the field things ran smoothly! Her tactical skills were some of the best I had seen in my coaching career. Her knowledge of the game combined with leadership on the field was integral to our success. Erika was also a solid technical player. Her on the ball touch and ability to pass was top notch. While I am thankful for the soccer abilities Erika possessed, I was even more thankful for her attitude, effort given, and her drive for success. She is a fantastic role model and I'd be delighted to have her as a coach and positive impact on my kids life.
