More About Coach Erdi
I am a US Soccer Federation National A-Youth licensed coach with extensive experience at the youth, collegiate, and professional levels—both as a player and as a coach. Most recently, I served as Head Coach for Carolina Velocity FC, overseeing U12–U19 teams, sharpening players’ individual skills, and guiding them through the college recruitment pathway. Previously, I was an Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Northern Kentucky University and have also led elite youth teams at Cincinnati United Premier SC. I coach players of all levels—from beginners learning the basics to advanced athletes pursuing collegiate or professional goals. I also hold a German FA Coaching License (TFV), along with specialized certificates in training methodology, game analysis, and injury prevention.
I competed as a professional soccer player from 2003 to 2015 in Turkey, representing clubs such as Karagumruk SK, Beykoz Anadolu SK, Vefa SK, and Vardar SK. My early years were spent developing a strong technical and tactical foundation in the youth academies of Besiktas JK and Vefa SK from 1996 to 2003. During my professional career, I earned a reputation for leadership on the field and a relentless work ethic. These experiences at the highest level have given me invaluable insights into player development and performance.
I focus on creating age-specific plans tailored to each player’s developmental needs and goals. We typically begin with a dynamic warm-up—including athletic development activities—and ball-control drills. Next, we move on to position-specific exercises that enhance players’ situational movements and skills. I also utilize small-sided games to improve performance in a realistic game setting. Whenever possible, I incorporate video analysis to provide immediate feedback on positioning and decision-making. Each session concludes with a recap of key takeaways, ensuring players leave with clear, personalized goals for continued improvement.
