More About Coach Emer

My undergraduate degree is in Health and Physical Education which corresponds alongside my coaching background. I am also CPR/First Aid certified. I began coaching soccer at age 15 back in Ireland through spring and summer soccer programs. Since moving to America I have coached a variety of age groups both boys and girls ranging from 4years old to collegiate soccer players. More recently I coached collegiate soccer at my alma mater Slippery Rock University as a volunteer assistant. This past summer I was a Division Specialist for the Philadelphia Union Soccer Schools coaching kids from 6-14. This upcoming fall I will be assistant girls soccer coach at Holy Cross High School in Delran NJ.

I have played on the U15, U17 and U19 Irish Women's National soccer team earning over 25 caps for my country. While playing with my club in Ireland I had the opportunity to play in the UEFA Women's Champions League in 2009 narrowly missing out on reaching the last 32. I moved to America in 2009 on soccer scholarship to Slippery Rock University where I started all 4 years. I captained the team my final 2 years leading them the the Sweet 16 both my Junior and Senior year and winning the PSAC Championship my senior year in 2012. I earned All-PSAC, Daktronics All-Region and NSCAA All-Region 1st team awards in 2011 and 2012 and was named as an All-American in 2011 and 2012 also.

A typical session will always consist of a dynamic warm-up and stretching moving into agility and footwork. After that I would move onto touches on the ball and simple skills such as 1st touch, turns and stepovers. Each session will address a different skill such as dribbling, passing/receiving, shooting, skills, heading, positioning, clearances, communication and any other aspect the client would like to focus on. During these sessions I will give plenty of specific feedback with great attention to detail. After the session I will review how it went with both the client and parents to make sure there is an understanding of what is being done with each session and what myself and the client are trying to accomplish.

Client Reviews

After just one session, my daughter is thrilled with Coach Emer and so am I. Coach Emer was able to break down the simple mechanics that can't always be covered in a team setting. She gave my daughter practical instructions which can easily be implemented into her game. Additionally, she came prepared and enthusiastic; our experience was great. We're already looking forward to more sessions with Coach Emer!
