More About Coach DJems

I've worked with hundreds (830+) athletes on individual basis and group settings, from beginning 6 year olds to experienced professional athletes. I have created full season training programs for Parkland Soccer Club with Roger Thomas, AC Delray with Steve Burges, FC Florida, Mirarmar United, and Boca United (US Developmental Academy). I've also done fitness evaluations for American Heritage School (Delray), Parkland Rangers Football, and Parkland Flag football. I typically work with young athletes ranging from the age of 7-18 years old (Elementary to High School). I majored in Exercise Science and Health promotions from FAU, I am currently working on my CSCS - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

I graduated from American Heritage School, and went on to play college soccer Florida Atlantic University. After my first year, I went overseas with the dream of playing professional ball. I've made "freshmen all american" and have received numerous defensive awards over my career. However my most gratifying accomplishments are through the athletes i have trained; they have earned scholarships from numerous D1 schools including Penn State, USF, University of FL, FSU, University of Miami, FIU and more.

The sessions are based on the athletes weaknesses and strengths. I evaluate their physical ability, technical ability, training maturity and focus (psychological component). From there we create a training program to improve their weaknesses in the most effective way possible. A typical session can look like:
1) Dynamic warm up and hip activation
2) Physical component - Core Strength, movement mechanics, speed/agility, coordination, and stamina
3) Technical component - Ball control and dribbling, passing techniques, shooting technique, defensive techniques and more
4) Cool down - Thorough stretch to reduce fatigue and soreness. During this time I review what we worked on and the implication to the game. Also use this time to learn about the athlete and their life goals.
5) At home exercise chart - I then email or print out an at home exercise chart for the athlete. I expect them to do it every day. The goal with this is instill discipline and what it takes to be successful in the sport (or anything they want to succeed in).
