More About Coach David

I am a fairly new coach with a few years of coaching under my belt. I have coached AAU basketball for a few years in the Dallas Texas area. The age range of those teams were 14-16 year old. I provide emphasis on mechanics such as shooting form and how to finish through contact. I also enjoy working with my players outside of practice providing film/highlights and communicate with players to breakdown the film in order to learn from it.

I have played basketball for 12 years. I started on a 5A High School team in Dallas TX for 3 years and played college basketball at an HBCU called Langston University for 3 years as a starter as well. I played 4 positions in college as I was considered to be an all around player. I excelled in defense, rebounding and finishing in the paint but could also shoot 3s and facilitate the ball.

I like to plan my session specifically catered to my athletes. So the first day we can spend getting familiar with one another. I can figure out the player tendencies and weaknesses then build a development plan from there.

For example:
If a player is good at making layups but only with his right hand, we will work on left hand layups as part of the workout
