More About Coach Daniel
I have coached youth soccer for 11 years, the past 6 years being full-time here in New Jersey.
I have coached a wide variety of abilities, from 4-5 year old beginners through to experienced college and adult athletes, with most age groups in between.
I currently work with the FC Premier program with Westfield Soccer whilst running a training organization called European Football Coaching. I work with teams, summer camps, skills programs and sporting social activities.
I am qualified to the equivalent of a UEFA "A" license, as I have a NSCAA Premier Diploma as well as the Director of Coaching Diploma and a BTEC National Diploma in Sports Development.
I played as a semi-professional player in England. I represented Eastwood Town in the FA Cup as well as spending time with Long Eaton United and Southwell City, both also at the 'Semi-Pro' level.
An initial 1on1 session would consist of going through each of the basics (first touch, foot-skills, ball striking etc) to try to identify where I believe a players strengths and weaknesses lie. If they need work striking the ball, for example, then that would become the focus of the upcoming sessions - but session one would be general (unless the client know exactly what they would like to work on leading into the session).
